Today & digests

Your daily briefing, manager insights, and org digests.

Today as your home screen

Today answers: What needs my attention? What slipped? Who is out? Open it once each morning instead of checking tasks, email, and PTO in separate tools.

Everyone sees:

  • Tasks assigned to you that are overdue or due today.
  • Who is on PTO.
  • Upcoming scheduled calls.
  • Shortcuts into Inbox items that need action.

Morning brief

The morning brief is a personalized summary delivered in-app and optionally by email or push. It is timezone-aware, delivery respects your profile timezone, not the server's.

Enable or tune delivery under Settings → Notifications. Some workspaces append a one-sentence AI narrative commentary when the feature flag is on, still factual, not a chatbot.

Insights tab (managers)

Managers and Directors see an Insights view on Today:

  • At-risk tasks (rule-based flags for overdue, stalled in progress, or due within a few days. Not opaque AI scoring) transparent rules you can explain to the team.
  • Team load: open task count per person for capacity conversations.
  • Drill-down: click a row to open the task or get an AI explanation of why it is at-risk when enabled.

Friction Score (managers)

Friction is a composite score from 0–100 summarizing how "stuck" work is across the org. Inputs include blocked task count and age, overdue percentage, stale backlog items, reassignment rate, and at-risk count. Use it in standups to ask where process broke down, not as a performance grade for individuals.

Members do not see Friction; if you need access, ask your Director for a Manager role.

Daily digest (org-wide)

The daily digest summarizes workspace activity: tasks created and completed, PTO queue highlights, at-risk items, and optional AI narrative. It sends via email to users who opt in. Directors can enable an AI narrative when the org flag is on.

Directors can preview the next digest payload under Settings → Tools before it goes out.

Weekly digest (managers)

A weekly outcome summary may email managers on a schedule (often Sunday) with narrative framing of what the team completed. Content is generated from task activity, confirm your notification preferences if you want fewer emails.

Building a daily habit

  1. Read Today and the morning brief.
  2. Clear "needs action" items in Inbox.
  3. Update task statuses on boards so Insights stay honest.
  4. Managers: scan Friction weekly, not only when firefighting.
